This page contains software that you might find useful in processing statistical data.  So far there is not much here, but we will add to the programs below as we produce, test, and document them.

1) Program ZSCORES is a data conversion utility composed in the "C" language.  ZSCORES is a UNIX-style, command-line converter of data into statistically normalized data (turns it into the "Z score" format).  That is, the program takes in a single data stream of numbers, and linearly transforms them into a stream of data with mean 0 and standard deviation 1.  There are a few options as to exactly how the transformation should be performed, but that's all ZSCORES does (in the style of UNIX single-function utilities).

The  zscores.zip  file that you can download  includes the following files:

- zscores.exe: a DOS/Windows version of the ZSCORES program.
- zscores: a RED HAT 8.0 version of the ZSCORES program.
- zscores.txt: documentation on how to use the program.
- zscores.c: the source file for this program
- zscores.tst: indicates what kind of testing was done on ZSCORES.

We at the VA's HCN Laboratory in Martinez, CA hope that you find the program(s) above useful.  But if not, then you can plan on getting from us what you paid for the program(s)/documentation: nothing in terms of warranty, support, compensation for damages, etc.  However, if you do notice a bug or have ideas for improvements to the program, then you can email the author of the software at the address below, and I will hopefuly get back to you (but cannot promise that):
